A gamified quiz platform that turns boring assessments into something students actually want to do.
Quizzes are one of the most dreaded parts of school. Students treat them as chores. Kung Fu Quiz was supposed to change that by making assessments genuinely engaging, without turning them into mindless games.
We introduced a martial arts progression system where students earn belts as they master topics. The metaphor keeps things playful without being patronizing, and the belt system gives students a clear sense of where they stand.
The real challenge was the real-time competitive mode. Two students, a countdown timer, live scoring, and instant feedback. On a phone screen, that’s a lot of information fighting for space. The team spent most of our time figuring out what could go and what absolutely had to stay.
On the teacher side, we kept things straightforward. Create a quiz, pick from a question bank, assign it to a class, check results. No learning curve.
Students engaged with quizzes far more than they did with traditional formats. The competitive element made assessments something students actually started on their own, without being told to.
