A mobile app for managing distributed teams without the bloat of traditional project management tools.
There’s no shortage of project management tools. The problem is that most of them try to do everything, and end up feeling heavy for teams that just need to stay coordinated. Smart Flock needed to bring tracking and communication into one place without becoming another thing people dread opening.
I started by designing around the first 10 minutes of someone’s day. Not “what features do we need” but “what does a team lead actually do when they open this app?” That question shaped the entire dashboard: task-focused, not data-focused.
Notifications were designed around relevance, not volume. Not everything needs a red badge. Only the things that require action get your attention.
The interface uses progressive disclosure. New users see the basics. Power users can dig deeper. Nobody gets overwhelmed on day one.
Delivered a complete product design with a component library and detailed interaction specs. The focus was on reducing daily cognitive load for people managing multiple workstreams at once.
